Thinking of going to Bayou Segnette State Park but not sure which directions to follow. I see at least two addresses for the park and several directions depending on where you are coming from. Has anyone come in from the East on I10 that could give me a good way to get there with a 40 ft motorhome towing a toad?

Get off I-10 at US 90 Business Route West (I think it's Exit 234 - the exit is on the left.)
Stay on US 90 about 12 miles to Drake Avenue in Westego. Make a left across the highway and the entrance to the park is in front of you. There's a sign.
I've stayed there a couple of times and it's a really nice park. Enjoy your trip!

If you would like to avoid the traffic, I would take the I10 to I610 to I10 to I310 south then take US90 east to Business 90 the park is on your right.
Another route I used several times is I10 to Slidell then I12 west to I55 south then I10east at laplace to I310 south to US90. This route would bypass the city all together. I is a little bit longer, but less headache and less chance of being stuck in a traffic jam.

If from the East on I-10/MObile or the N on I-59/Hattiesburg, Ms., they meet @ Slidell. Take I-10 into the heart of New Orleans. As said get into the left lane well before getting to the Superdome as US90BW exits to the left. It will take you to the Cresent City Connection bridge which is free Westbound/ toll Eastbound @$.50 per axle. This is all elevated freeway and gets to ground level about 2 mi. from the park. As in all big cities timing is important, so try to get into N.O. between 9:00 AM and 3:00PM. and you should be ok. 1 quirk about Big Easy drivers. The land all around for miles is table flat and they don't know how to handle grades. They haven't figured out that if you're going 50 on flat ground and start up a bridge or overpass, there are plenty, you have to give it some more gas to maintain speed. Likd any other big city if you leave a proper amount of spacee in front of you someone will fill it up.
Enjoy your stay and come hungry.
Pick up a copy (free) of Gambit mag and it will give you lots of info on dining in the area. The friday local paper has a Lagniappe section that has lots of good info.

Whatever you do, do NOT take a route that takes you over the Huey P. Long bridge. There are many reasons not to but, trust me, you don't want to go this way.
