I recently rented some indoor storage space. They were waiting for the tennant who was in the process of giving up their space to vacate before I could assume the spot in a specific building that had electricity. So I parked the trailer outside overnight..... long story short.... I left the switch for the pump on. The freshwater tank was still full when and the lines were all had water in them.
When I returned to the trailer the next day, I heard the pump running as I approached the trailer.
Ofcourse, I thought the worse ......so after sticking my head everywhere inside the trailer and determining that there were no leaks or burst pipes, I wondered how or why that pump was running like that. When I open a faucet, there is good pressure and it runs normally. When I shut the faucet, the pitch of the pump changes, but it still keeps chugging. It seems as though the pressure switch is staying closed..... does anyone know if there is a pressure adjustment??
It is a Flojet Model # 03526-144 2.9 GPM 5.2 Amp

HERE is a manual for that pump.
Don't see any reference to being able to make any adjustment to pressure switch setting. It is on the end of pump.....look for a screw in center of head. If it's like a Shurflo you can make minor adjustments by turning screw clockwise to increase pressure set point.
In the troubleshooting section it mentions defective pressure switch as one of the possible causes of pump continuing to run.....pg. 3

Sounds like it possibly has air in the line. Here's what I would do.
First turn off the switch to stop the pump. Then open a hot faucet and drain the pressure out of the line. Leave the valve open and go open the pressure relief valve on the water heater. If water comes out let it drain until it stops. Go turn on the pump for a second and see if water cones out of the water heater relief valve. If water comes out of the valve turn off the pump again and close the water heater valve.
Now go to each faucet to see if it has an aerator that can be unscrewed from the tip. Unscrew every aerator that you can and leave it out. Make sure every valve is off including the outside shower. Now turn on the pump and let it run for a few seconds. Open each faucet both hot and cold and let them run for a bit. Make sure you run the toilet, bathtub or shower and the outside shower.
Close all valves and see if the pump is working properly..

If it has a city water valve to fill the fresh water tank it may be in the open position. You need to turn it to the closed position.

Also, there is a back flush valve in the city water line. If this is bad it will cause the pump to stay on.

Update......I need a new battery. I found that the voltage was so low that the pump could not get the pressure high enough to open (turn off) the pressure switch. After I put a good charge on the battery, it worked fine. When I bought the trailer, it had been sitting on the lot for a year. I am sure that battery was already deep cycled before I even got it.....then I managed to completely drain it last summer.
Time for a new battery....
