Does anyone have this setup and do you have or have had problems.
I have a Carryout that I am thinking of purchasing but can't get it to work. I have been using the tripod for years and thought this would be easier but so far I have reservations
I have done the step by step according to the Winegard Manual and it seems to take so long with the 50 item checks.
I have a call to Winegard and hope I hear tomorrow.
So I would appreciate if you have any secrets that will get the thing working.

Was it working before?? Was the receiver used for it before a Dish receiver?? If it was working before, but not a Dish receiver, you need to remove the cover and reset the dip switches for the Dish receiver.

I'm not sure, but I think only certain receivers work with a carryout. The Dish Tailgater will only work with that 211Kthe receiver. That's all I got.

Dip switch has been set for Dish.

Does your 301 still work with your Tripod set up?
Worth a try to confirm operation
Could be a bad cable??

Have you tried this:

If setting up a DISH 311, 301, or 500 series receiver, in some cases you may need to check the boxes next to Superdish and Alternate before running the Check Switch test. Then, select Test and continue with normal receiver setup.

Uncheck dish 500, superdish & alternate. Hook up sat cable first be certain you have a strong 12 volt feed to plug in, clear view of southern sky, be on signal strength screen, when you have a signal on 119 sat for 30 seconds press check switch. Only do this the first time you use the satellite as this sets up an internal setting of sw64 switch. It will take about 20 minutes the very first time. It will aquire satellites then it will download the guide. Be patient. I had a problem with low voltage so I installed a regulated power supply.

Thanks for all the good info. Didn't have time to mess with the Dish today because I had visit BIL in Nursing Home. Will tackle that puppy in the morning.

82 Corvette: Please tell me more about your regulated power supply.

Thanks Ed

Well I finally got that puppy up and running. I spent a total of 10 hours playing with it but with the help of Winegard Tech got it done.
The reasons it took so long is I called the Winegard Tech and then had some personal business to take care of and finally we were able to connect and get it done.
The Tech told me the instructions on the website are not correct. Here is what you need to do if you have a 301-311 Dish Receiver.
Do not connect coaxal or 12 volt power.
Go to menu system setup..installation..point dish..check switch..Uncheck superdish & alternate..check switch..test..save..canel.go to sat 19 transponder 11..connect coaxal cable & 12 volt power..wait until 119-11 is locked or green bar appears wait about 30 seconds..check switch..add superdish & alternate..test..WHEN YOU SEE SW 64 YOU ARE READY. Then cancel 5 times. Hope this helps someone else and if you don't understand PM or email me. Ed This works for me with my 301.
