too small for us. if we were just weekend campers, it would be fine.. a nice "cabin" on wheels. but for 6 weeks to 2 months or more... no thanks.

Not bad for a 21' long RV. I think they wouldn't sell so well here because they are underpowered. Americans love BIG engines with lots of power. LOL

My experience with that radical concept of a low profile type C called a B+ by EVIL-MINDED MARKETERS suggests the problem is similar to what has already been said about our nature. Namely, we are not very capable of change.
How would we ever manage to classify a rig like this Hymermobile B-Class Starline

when we've managed to reject the official 'new' RVIA classification system set up for over a decade or so now???
RVIA description of Motorized RV’s:
"There are three classifications for motorized RVs, Type A, B, and C. Type A motorhomes are built on a special vehicle chassis and powered by either a gasoline or diesel engine. They are the type that look similar to a bus. Type B motorhomes are conversion vans that have been modified and equipped with all of the amenities found in other RV’s, in a more compact size. Type C motorhome are built on a cut-away van or truck chassis and are the type you see with a section extending out over the vehicle cab. Motorized RV’s can range anywhere from 21 to 45 feet in length and are available in a variety of floorplans and price ranges."
Take the definition for Type A "Type A motorhomes are built on a special vehicle chassis and powered by either a gasoline or diesel engine." So, can we say anything on the Ducato chassis is a Type A, since it is made specially for RVs?
The Ducato sure looks like a Type C chassis

or even a TYPE B in process!!

I think they would sell.
The younger buyers of RVs are looking for smaller and more efficient, which is part of the reason why the only MHs that Airstream sells these days are class B Mercedes vans.
I wouldn't mind a MH that looked like a delivery van, provided it had some well-made slideouts, and the bathroom, shower, kitchen, etc. were decently usable. I know that in Europe and South America, the Mercedes Sprinter gets a 4WD/AWD option which would be useful for boondocking.

There are certainly much bigger double story houses in many parts of Europe. 5O-60hp? extremely unlikely for a modern European car.

They call them "Integrated" in Europe. They are a Class A looking small Class C. They are on the Ducato chassis , similar power to a Sprinter 130kw(180hp) . Largest size is 23ft. Driving in Europe I can see why they have much smaller versions as the roads away from the Freeways are tiny. Freeways are excellent, but turning off to travel on the very small side roads is a culture shock.

Why can't Fiat get those into the US, and not just the tiny cars? Take the engines for example that are offered with the Ducato... the 180 Multijet would be awesome while getting decent MPG. The chassis wouldn't fall under the "chicken tax", and it would be economical for RV builders since it would cover both a segment of the class B and the class C market.
I wish Ford would take a hint and try to get RV makers to go with the "new" Transit van and the rumored EB engines when those are up for sale next year. I'd much rather buy American for a chassis, just on principle.

Another feature I like about the Ducato chassis based MH is that here in the US, it does look like a delivery or UPS van, which helps in the stealth aspect.
This means that when parked at a CB, WM, or just some quiet street because there are no nearby CGs, you are far less likely to get a pounding on the door from some vagrant looking for some cash.
