On our past trip we needed to run the heat pump in the cool mornings. Every time we turned the a/c to the heat pump setting the unit would start to vibrate. Does put out warm air. It does not do it when using the cooling setting. Dealer checked out the nuts and bolts and ever thing was tight. Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions.

Ours seems to vibrate a bit more when on the heat pumps as well. Not really sure of the reason, but ours has done it since new. It's not real bad, but you do notice it more so than when in ac mode.

On heat mode, the compressor is pumping directly to the inside coils which makes it louder. On cool mode, the compressor pumps to the outside coils, and the inside coils feed through a capillary expansion tube.

Would this cause the vibration of the cabinets and the plates inside?

You need to state Brand and Model of HP and year model. Doug

For some reason the reversing valve vibrates more when heating. If it is really bad and under warranty you may be able to get it exchanged.

I was at the dealer this am and their mechanic term the vibration severe. It will rattle the dishes in the cabinet. I found a small motor home with the same unit in it and it did not have near the vibration. Dealer called Dometic and they said the excessive vibration was normal when it is over 60 degrees outside. I guess the battle has started with Dometic.

1. STATE YEAR MODEL!!!! AND MODEL!!!! THIS is critical to know.
2. You do NOT run a HP when over 60 degrees outside, that increases the HEAD pressure on the compressor as when it is that warm the system cannot remove the heat from the evaporator and the outside condensor (which is cold in HP mode) cannot dissapate the cold because of the ambient heat.
3. NEW 410 freon Dometic model PENGUIN HP's do have a vibration problem. THAT is why year and MODEL is important to this discussion. Doug
