We have a 2007 Winnebago Journey and would like to replace our cloth covered Rest Easy Sofa. We have been to Camping World and are having a hard time getting anyone to give us a quote. We want to replace it with the UltraLeather. Does anyone know where we could purchase one? Our existing sofa is 75" wide and has an electric motor with the switch on the right armrest that opens it to a queen size bed. It has manual dual slide out foot extensions. We would be happy with one slide out foot extensions. We are wanting a buckskin color.
Has anyone had any experience in switching this sofa out yourself? How difficult is it to get it out the door and the new one in? Is it possible to order one and have it delivered to our home? Is it worth doing ourselves or should we have an RV dealer do it? We recently changed out our CRT TV's and installed 2 flat screens so we are fairly handy and capable.
Can't answer for a source near you but removing the sofa is not hard. They come apart in sections - lifting the seating section will be heavy, tho, so have a couple of strong men handy!
Although you don't exactly say, I assume you mean you want another Easy Rest, just in Ultraleather. Winnebago builds that sofa themselves and I don't believe they will sell directly to you.
I would call or email Winnebago directly and tell them what you want to do. They can hook you up with a dealership who might sell it to you to install your self or not. I'm sure it's something you could handle yourself but you can handle the weight.
I took my rest easy sofa apart and took it to an upholstery shop and had it recovered. You can get Ultraleather and keep your sofa. Only cost me about $700, much cheaper than a new Winnebago sofa.
I have a Hide-A-Bed queen size sleeper sofa for sale from my 2011
Newmar Dutch Star,75" Ultra Leather, beige, air mattress, pump, never slept in.
I now have a computer desk instead.
Send me a private email,I live in northern Chicagoland.
