We used to own a Suzuki Grand Vitara and it was one of the best vehicles we ever owned. We traded it for a small pickup to haul a scooter. We would buy another one in a heartbeat. (my DH is a "car guy")

Great little SUV from what I've read. And at one time they were considered one of the best toads because of their light weight and easy towability. But alas, today they need to go on a diet, like so many other toads also need to do! Would be nice if they would bring back the 2500 lb Suzuki.

it weighs a whole 3700 lbs so still pretty lite for a SUV.Has all the bells and whistles, can tow four down, for 29K.Its the cheapest fully loaded 4 door suv 4x4 that I can buy

We have a 2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara that we have been towing since we owned it. We are fulltimers and travel at least 10,000 miles a year. No major problems just regular maintainance. My only complaint is that there are not many dealerships around so sometimes it takes a bit of time to get parts. We had problems with our rear seals and it took a couple of orders to get the correct part. They do drive a bit more like a truck than a car but for what we need it for it is good.

The new ones drive a lot better than the old one,s like yours.I have driven a 2010 and it drives real nice.so not worried about how they drive at all.I was refering to what the 2012 were like, not oldies
Thanks

OK but the rest of the post still applies. There are very few Suzuki dealerships out there so if you have a breakdown you may have to wait for parts to be shipped instead of being able to pick them up at the local auto store. When our rear seals went out we were without a car for over a week so had to rent one. It does tow nicely but we follow most of the towing rules. I run the car about every 200 miles and we don't travel at high speeds either. The book says 55 but we don't go that slow. I have over 84,000 driving miles plus at least 45,000 towing miles.
