I noticed several folks talking about traveling with dogs. I pull a 5r and I built a dog kennel behind the cab from heavy wire material. I put the dog carry crate inside of that. during the good weather my Brittany liked to stay out to sniff the air. When touring fishing or whatever, I would leave her in the enclosure safe and sound. She liked to stick her head up through the wire mesh if left in town to peg pets from other tourists. While packing for our last trip, the Britt sat in her crate in the back of the truck for a whole day to be sure she wasn't left behind.

Aren't multi compartment kennels common in the backs of Alaska pickups? Mushers use them to travel to competitions.
