Sticking to the inverter matter I Just checked the factory low voltage cut-out setting on the ProSine 2.0. The values are adjustable, and range from 10.0v to 16.0v. Two previous inverters I've owned had fixed only settings of 10.5v. For your given scenario, I think you'd do well to simply lower the cut-out point to 10.5 and see what happens.

Are you sure you haven't confused watts with amps? I'm calling BS on a 150 amp draw coffee maker. You would need a major solenoid and battery cable sized wires to pull 150 amps for a full minute.

You guys aren't reading. The OP got the 150 amps from his Trimetric. It's not BS.

150 * 12.5 = 1875W

That's a little high, but not totally unreasonable.

Hi Kendall,

Since it was a trimetric reading--and the inverter was alarming at 11 volts--150 X 11 volts = 1650 watts.

at low voltage of 11v * 150 = 1650 input to the inverter

takes a lot of power to heat a cup of water real fast

edit I see pt beat me too it

Yes. What would you say it is?

Roger that

Still... I'd like to know the make and model of this thing. I've not seen one like this.

And FWIW... I also give high regard to the Melitta cone jobs. I have a single in the RV. The only downside is you have to pour very slowly and carefully to get a good brew... just like a drip maker would do. Or you can stir like you would with a press. Otherwise your not going to get a good, complete brew.

To me the press is pretty easy to clean. At least as easy as a percolator... yet LOTS of RVers use those things.

And for those that tout solar to run their coffee makers... what happens when it's cloudy? Days like that are made for EXTRA coffee!

It would have to be cloudy for two days straight to affect me.

Hi KendallP,

I found a lovely 4 cupper from Cuisart that draws 400 watts and only uses about 7 amp hours. As a bonus it has a metal insulated wall pot.
