Charles, I had no problems buying a new gas unit, but after driving it for two years, I had enough reasons to switch to a diesel. My reasons to switch from gas to diesel were: engine noise up front, transmission fan noise up front, heat, lack of power/torque, and the mountains of Colorado. Even crossing the Mojave desert to California, the Bounder gas was noisy and hot on a flat surface. Ride comfort and handling on a diesel is also a factor you don't appreciate until you drive one.
