In 2008 we purchased a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan with the life time powertrain warranty. Have any of you had any experience with the Dodge dealer on this issue? Our van only has 51000 miles and is doing fine, somehow I don't believe the dodge people on this warranty. It is suppose to be for the life time of the orginal owener.
Read the warranty fine print and hold them to whatever is printed there. No reason they shouldn't honor a warranty they wrote themselves and voluntarily offered to the customer, of their own accord.
With only 51,000 miles on it I don't think you are on pace to need it. The rest of the van will fall apart around you before you need much of the power train warranty.

My FIL's sister has a 08 300 with that warranty, the car has less than 10,000 miles on it. When we moved her, last year, from East Alton , Ill., my wife noticed the brakes shook terribly when applied heavy. I made an appointment with my dealer in Springfield, Mo., and took it in. They wound up replacing the rotors, pads, and calipers, all under warranty. At the same time they did the required 5 year inspection, as well. I don't believe you will have any problems with the warranty, as long as you do the inspections and the regular maintenance.

I had an 08 Ram 1500 with the lifetime powertrain warranty. The dealer where I purchased my truck was closed when Chysler cut all those dealers a few years ago. I had my wife's 2011 Nitro at another dealer get a recall taken care of and asked the service manager about the lifetime warranty on my truck. The paper work on the warranty says you need to take it to a dealer within so many days ( I think 30 or 60) of the 5th anniversary of the purchase date. The dealer's service manager confirmed this and told me to bring it in around the 5th anniversary. He said the would check the drivetrain and make any repairs/adjustments needed.
Double check your warranty paperwork and stop in or call your local Dodge dealer and talk to them about it. The folks I talked to seemed more than willing to take care of it and that made me feel a little better. I traded in my 1500 for a used 2500 so I no longer have the lifetime powertrain warranty. Good luck. Hope you never have to use your warranty.
My son had that warranty on his truck. Every time he took it to the dealer for service they would bug him about trading it in; it appears they wanted to get rid of that lifetime warranty.
Finally, he traded it for a new Jeep Rubicon. He and the dealer are both happy now.

Well if you hold up your end they will hold up their end.
Are there specific provisions to the new warranty?
A4. In order to maintain the Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, you must have a powertrain inspection performed by an authorized Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealer once every 5 years. This inspection, performed at no charge, must be made within 60 days of each 5-year anniversary of the warranty start date of the vehicle. It is your responsibility to perform preventative maintenance on your vehicle. You’re strongly encouraged to follow the instructions contained in the Scheduled Maintenance Service guidelines in your Owner’s Manual.
A bit confused as to why you would question this now . Would hope you have read the warranty requirements for you end as to inspection and such. The first thing you need to do is get your warranty booklet for the power train and read it. Here is a link to frequently asked questions CLICK HERE
