I just bought a set a Cooper AT 3's and noticed two of them have what i would call a dent or dimple in them on the sidewalls. These are E rated tires. Is this a manufacture defect? Or is this normal in new tires sometimes?

While I can't say what it is, I can say that I've noticed that on many of my tires over the years, and I've never had a problem with it.

It's pretty normal. If they start protruding, that could mean something.

If it's a long straight line that runs across the width of the side wall, it's probably something with how the plies join together in the manufacture of the tire. I would take the truck back to wherever you got the tires and have the shop manager take a look at it though, just to be sure.

I think it is normal, as I have seen it many times.

The Michelin LTX M/S E's I had on my 02 Super Duty did the same thing, no ill effects whatsoever...
