I installed a new 22" Vizio LED TV in my 29' Puma TT. It is next to the stereo/entertainment system in the trailer. Yesterday I turned it on for the first time and it worked fine. We left and returned and now neither the TV or the stereo system turn on or even power up (backlighting in stereo). There is power to the electrical outlet for the TV. I even plugged it in to another outlet and it still isn't working. I'm thinking a power surge but nothing else, including my other TV that is connected to the same antenna are not working. However, you would think the surge would have hit something else too. Any ideas?

I had similar issue in my 2010 Puma after a lightning storm but it was just the stereo. The back light was on but would not power up. I pulled fuse labeled stereo in the fuse box and put back in and it started working. Hope this helps!

Stereo fuse is just fine. I would think that a surge would have killed a fuse or two also but all are OK. I checked those first.

These new gadgets are computer based so they may benefit from a complete power removal to initiate a cold boot.

This could be why cedarstump's fuse pull proved successful.

Hi,

Yes, you need to "reboot" the whole system. Remove the fuse. Turn on the unit to drain any capacitors. Replace the fuse and reapply power. I hope this works!

I pulled it, it was fine, waited a minute and put the fuse back and the stereo came back. Thanks

That's why I use a good surge protected power strip on the outlet in the plug that I use for the TV and stereo. I also have a PI portable 50 EMS system hanging on the power pedestal, so the power strip may be redundant.
