I am in the process of choosing a folding ladder to carry on my MH.
"Little Giant" type (without the high price!): multi-purpose, folding to small storage size, lightweight, 300 lb capacity, at least 12 ft so I can access the MH roof (do not like nor trust the factory roof ladder anymore).
{Search function on this board has never worked well for me}
so I'll watch for quick responses -an hour or two- on which ladder is recommended before I go buy something.

I picked up a Little Giant clone from Walmart, it works as advertised and goes in an under slide donkey bed with other rarely used items.
The good:
1. Two sided step ladder in addition to standard ladder. Nice stable platform for cleaning windshields side windows etc.
2. tall enough to reach the roof when in the straight ladder format.
The not so good.
1. Heavy and bulky. My neighbor has one of the collapsible ladders and it fits in 1/4 the space and is far lighter. Of course it's 2-3 times the price and does not work as a step ladder.

mine is made by Keller and it folds up and extends to 13 feet. I put two hooks on MH ladder and carry it there with a cable lock so it doesn't walk away.

I just use a little 4ft fold up myself. Takes very little space under, and gets me up high enough to do what I need. I've got a pretty solid roof latter, so no worries getting up on the roof when needed. I mainly use it for cleaning the windows ect.

extends to the top rung of my existing ladder. Works great and really easy to store!!!

As to the ladder, I am still undecided, watching, and seaching for good ideas. While I have some what good storage, storage is always at a premium and how to haul a ladder is a question in my mind. I'm thinking telescopic or folding.

Telescoping from Camping World. It stows easily and leans against motorhome which makes it stable. Good rubber ends which avoid scratching. It is pricey but really works for me. I use for snapping the window screens on the top for the most part.

What seems to be the issue with a good RV specific ladder that bolts on the back. There are hunderds of thousands of them in use every day. If there was a safety issue with one of them we would surely know about it here.
