I would like to read about after market high end internet connections people are using in their RVs. Hardware access points, antennas, Verizon wireless, local Wifi, remote locations, etc.

I know parks offer poor wifi and at McDonalds you can get a little over one meg per second download speed. Surely we can do better.

We use the Verizon MiFi 4510L 4G. Wifi connection up to 5 devices. Can do 3G or 4G. Have done Internet many different ways, this is by far the best we've used.

I have a ATT 3G phone with an external antenna port connected to a Wilson trucker antenna on top of the MH. With ATT you can op in and out of the data connect plan on a pro rated basis when needed. Can connect in places others can't.
Bluetooth connection from laptop to phone. Can receive calls and text messages while connected.
Also have an AirLink101 USB WiFi adapter. It has a 10db antenna/receiver on a 6 foot cord.

X4 ... this MiFi also allows one to plug in an external antenna. That makes it really nice to throw a Wilson antenna on a pole and run the wire into the MiFi. Then you have strong wifi throughout your RV. Think also... Skype if you want to do voice over IP.

Enjoy!

Roger on the Verizon MIFI WIFI Hot Spot connection... best thing I ever did... Works ANYWHERE a verizon cell phone works and allows five user devices within 50-60 feet of the unit.

x2. Same thing we used for a two-month period earlier this year. Free wifi at most CGs we were in was spotty, probably because of line-of-sight issues. The Verizon unit didn't let us down anywhere.
