Lets us know how you make out. My Michelin 17.5's are the XTE2 and they have been fine.
Good luck.

Those tires are what are coming on our ordered fiver. Sure did not know about the 62 mph limit. Wish I had known about it before ordering. We like to cruise at about 65 so may not be a big deal but still seems odd to build a tire for highway use on a trailer with that kind of limit.

Could someone clarify what is being said about inflation. 6 of these tires at 120 lbs inflation equals 28830 pounds of capacity. Seems even a MS is not going to have that kind of weight on its axles. Michelin CS typically will recommend using the inflation chart at all wheel positions.

When reading tire manufacturer recommendations about tire pressures it would be best to get direct verification from them via email or phonecon. Tire manufacturers will not dispute a vehicle manufacturers responsibility to set tire pressures. It’s a complicated subject with many government regulations and safety standards being involved.

Those are the stock tires on the Suites-these are NOT replacments.
Low tire pressure did not cause this-I check them all the time. I think the tires can carry more weight than the whole trailer is designed to carry~! Tires are also shaded by the slides on each side.
I did read about 62 mph speed limit-no problem there.
Defective tires?

There is a new post on the DRV forum reporting failures in two of those tires at the four and a half year mark. Treads were coming off. They replaced all four with Cooper Roadmasters (RM160) a 75 MPH tire. Here is a reference.

I spoke with Michelin Customer Support when I bought our XTE2 tires. They specifically said the tire pressure for the XTE2 is 125 psi and that is what you should run.
Ours are doing fine. Enjoy the road this year.

Call a Michelin tire dealer or the company direct or e-mail. I had the same trouble with Commercial TA's. They will adjust the tires for you. You usually have to pay for mounting and balance.

Tires are 'funny'.
On my last truck the Goodyear Wranglers E's cracked within 2 years. Dealer pro-rated a new set (6) at 50 percent. They were so expensive I could have bought a different brand from a different dealer for the same $$. Anyway, the new Goodyears cracked again so I bit the bullet and put Michelins on it and there was no problem - traded the truck and the tires looked perfect.
I couldn't keep tires on the old TH - several blowouts, tread separations, sidewall bulges, etc. Problems with both ST and LT tires E rated. Then I put a set of G614 on it - end of problems. They looked almost new when I traded.
Now I have Michelins on the new truck and TowMaster on the new TH. They all look perfect but I only have 15000 miles on the TH (less on the TV). I plan to put G614s on the TH new winter.

Well, I'm going to tackle this tire issue next week. Going to start with DRV first and see if I can get anywhere with them. Any DRV owners have a good contact at the factory I can email and send pics?
