After reading this thread it is clear to me that NewsW does not understand diesel emission systems. Your truck has a NOX absorber in front of the DPF. In between the NOX absorber and the DPF is a Lambda sensor. It is the diesel version of a 02 sensor. The exhaust path has a lot of carbon in that area. All of the manufactures are having various problems with lambda sensors. The repair procedure is to clean the sensor and re-assemble. Most of the time the sensor will not clean up and need to be replaced.

Are you trying to claim that sensor cleaning / replacement is now required maintenance?
If so, we got a even bigger problem because the manufacturer has to guarantee the emission performance for quite a number of years and miles.
Go look around 2010/11 when the 2011 Ford 6.7s first came out.
They had the dreaded NOx sensor problem.
Many sensors were replaced --- and the problem persisted until a software fix was put through.
A big enough change that it had to be approved as a running change by CARB / EPA all over before it was deployed.
I think I had a hand in that diagnosis.
I am not claiming anything. I explained the problem. Emission sensors have always been covered by 100K warranty.Just have the dealer change out the lambda sensor.

In this case, replacement of the sensor was NOT called for in the original repair (before it may have been damaged).
The issue is not necessarily a defective sensor, as it is suppose to self clean.
The issue is calibration as its characteristics change.
IIRC there is a calibration done at regular intervals as programmed by the software.

I call the dealer last night to find out what they found. Bad egt sensor. Forward sensor of 2sensors. I wondered if it was the same 1 that has the twisted wires I asked if it was the sensor they replaced after the wires were twisted on the last visit, they said no.I never got a receipt showing that sensor replaced on my last visit . I'm going to have to speak to the service manager when I pick it up . something sounds fishy here .

Compare it with the photos you took.
If the replacement of the sensor was not documented....
I think I know the story.
Ford probably refused to authorize it... and it was either they eat the cost... or just put it back and stay mum.
Plus the sensor may not be readily available.

Picked up the truck last night and returned the loaner. The service manager had the truck washed & waxed, detailed on the inside and filled my main fuel tank which was below 1/4 tank. I looked underneath and the sensor they replaced this time (EGT) was forward of the areas that I had a problem with on the previous visit. He said he had a "hot line" ticket open with Ford and would leave the ticket open a few days and follow up with me. Wish me luck on this repair.

The only time they fail is when there is external damage, (rock hit). There is not much to a temperature sensor.
