I'm experiencing sporadic loss of power while driving at freeway speeds.
Seems to happen @ 50mph; but not all the time.
Power loss is preceded by a light clicking sound which seems to be coming from under the dash.
Any ideas of what might be the cause?
I'm taking it in to a Ford dealer Tuesday but am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I have heard of it but have no info for you. Hopefully it is a known problem to Ford and they have a fix for it.

I'm surprised there are not more posts from the good mechanics on the forum. It really sounds like you have a fuel filter that may be clogging. It let's enough fuel through to operate until you have to put it under heavier load and then the necessary fuel is restricted. Air filter also can produce that problem but I am sure that is inspected regularly so I would check the fuel filter.

It might be an intermittent/weak fuel pump. It took approximately 7 hours of running the pump with pressure gauges for it to be a confirmed on my F53.

That was my next thought as well or perhaps injectors are dirty and not getting fuel into cylinders. Most likely some kind of issue with fuel not getting to the point to burn. You would notice if it was plugs I think.

Did you put a OBDII scanner on it? First thing anyone should do when they suspect a problem or get a engine light on.

The beast is at the dealer now; hopefully I'll get word tomorrow about what is wrong.
Did I scan it? Nope....it's a 2012;It's Ford's problem and I don't own a scanning device.
I'll post again when I learn more.

Well got it home today;barely...dealer couldn't figure out the problem..."couldn't reproduce the symptoms".
Geeeeeeeeeeesh
I drove it less than 10 miles and it did it again....
Called dealer for help...as I'd just left there; they gave me the roadside assistance help line phone#. I decided to keep trying to make it home.
Did the same thing 3 more times in 69 miles on the way home....pulled over shut it down, restarted and drove till it shut down again.PMO!!!
They said they scanned it and called Ford's help line for direction on the code but actually found nothing out of order.
Why am I not surprised???
They gave me the same kind of run-around with my 6.0 350 that I used to tow my old 5ver with...played games with me then AFTER the warranty ran out; told me I needed a new turbo and egr valve....
I call Tiffin tomorrow.

FWIW: this thing only has 1280 miles on it...we've used it 4 times "camping" about 60-70 miles away from home.
