Before and after pics of my pantry mod.......the way that the wood shelves are bolted into the frame makes the whole thing much more solid. The old metal racks just hung in place and did not help to support the framing. Its now much stronger plus provides a lot more storage.

Factory pantry rack with 4 wire baskets just removed from TC.

New wood shelves (5) with more capacity if desired

New mod installed back in TC

New mod tucked away. Only had to re-locate the bottom door latch to make things work.

Very nice work. Not only have you gained a lot of storage, the wood sure looks better, IMHO. Is the wood clear pine? Thanks for the photos.

Now you can get the big cans of food in there and you added a shelf. That should be good for an extra day or two in the boonies.

We need to do this to our Arctic Fox 30U. I see you have L brackets on the bottom 2 shelves, but have the top 3 just bolted to the slider frame. Any reason for this?

Good observation....yes there is a reason for this. There is an internal catch release rod inside the frame. Running bolts thru the frame on the bottom 2 shelves interferes with the release rod. If you look closely you will see the two holes in the frame at the bottom shelf where I did try the standard bolt method but it didnt work. By using angle aluminum I was able to use self taping screws and miss interfering with the rod. The angle aluminum was only needed at those 2 locations.
