I washed the bugs off of mine last week. I used awesome for the 1st time and it really takes the bugs off. It also takes the wax off. My younger next door neighbour came over and asked what I was doing. I showed him how awesome the awesome worked on bugs.He said to wait until he got home from his part time job as a detailer. So I did. He has this wax he put on the cap and then a spray on polymer after that. He wasn't satisfied with the wax job so he did it again. That's the front cap twice. Wow what a job. The next day I washed the sides and back and put it back in storage for a few weeks when we head out west for a few months. I gave him $50 for waxing the front end as I know it would have cost more than that if I hired somebody. The wax is Meguiar's NXT Generation tech wax 2.0 and the spray on is Mequiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer. I got me some for the next wax job.

Best $360 I spent this year...
You beat me to it.
Also, I just got a lawn service so I don't have to worry about getting the grass cut before or during a trip.

IF..........so far, I've saved a pile of money doing my own car, my own truck and my own 5er...no one will do as good a job as I will do on "my" car, truck or 5er....same for mowing "my" yard...I will do the best job and save a pile of money and get a pretty decent work out, and at "almost 62", could probably out work a many younger men doing these jobs...but again, it was the way I was brought up, something I really like doing......

ME just plain bad. but no elbow grease only some "relative bearing grease" left from the Coast Guard.

Do you store that relative bearing grease in the same locker as the 100' of chow line and the buckets of steam?

Wow.....I do remember all the hard work I used to put into mine. Then I went to RED MAX PRO,... O MY GOSH.. I can't say it enough, why put yourself through all that for just a couple of weeks of shine. I did my rig almost two years ago and the thing barely needs a wash to clean it up to the most gorgeous wet look shine you could ask for (rain does a pretty good job alone). As for the front cap the bugs just simply hose off when I get to my destination. Please do yourself a big favor and do the search here for the RED MAX PRO treatment. Its under a different name now but the write ups will explain the new stuff under the new name. Do it once, do it right, and move on to the enjoyment of just plain ownership....Good Luck

Just had my 5er washed and waxed and it only took my girlfriend two days to do the job. She is getting older and slowing down some but it is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of trailer maintenance as when they were younger.
