Just spent three nights at Pirateland in Myrtle Beach SC. It is a nice park with a pool, kid pool, lazy river, store, rec room, indoor pool, and a grill. We have two small children so the combination on the pools and the beach were perfect. Although we were camping in our travel trailer and they have sewer connections I did check out the bath house. It was mid grade on cleanness, but if you do not need access it does not matter.
Location is convenient and there are multiple RV dealers and repair centers including a camping world near by. Easy access to Myrtle Beach attractions including the local minor league park only 15 minutes from park. Excellent location.
Spacious sites, but you will need to decide if you want ocean front, pond front, or shaded. This is the third campground at Myrtle Beach that we have stayed at and it is our favorite so far.
We have stayed there several times when the kids went with us. Not bad, but you feel like you are in a constant game of Frogger avoiding the golf carts that are everywhere and too often driven by kids.
Alaska is next! Still trying to fit the pontoons to the RV so We can get to Hawaii!

X2. i would rather stay home.
Maybe it was the time of year that we were there, but we saw way fewer golf carts at Pirateland than at Ocean Lakes.
I really liked the lazy river etc at Pirateland too.
We have visited Pirateland in the past - maybe 5 years ago. After an incident when a worker attempted to steal from our campsite, we didn't go back for a while. We have chosen nearby Ocean Lakes and Lakewood for our more recent trips to Myrtle Beach but decided to give Pirateland another try on this Easter trip. We were very disappointed. The property is not very well kept up. The arcade, store, and restaurant are all small, not very well appointed, and have a "snakey look" with the ivy growing all over the front and sides. The staff was not very friendly, the indoor pool looked murky and cloudy. They are so determined to make sure that you are not a minute late on checking out that they stand at the gate and write down the time that you are leaving. Thankfully, we left a couple of hours before check out but wonder if they would have charged for another day if one was even 5 minutes late leaving.
I would strongly recommend going next door to Lakewood or just a short way down to Ocean Lakes for a much nicer campground experience. The prices are all about the same but you certainly would get much more for your money at one of the other two places.
Hate living in the house which is like a box.
So I like Tent Camping.
We went 5 spring breaks in a row and had a great time there. Largely due to the reviews in RV Net. Yes its not the fanciest park but that is the appeal, oceanfront and a little beachy. The kids on the golf carts dont really bother us and we do have favorite sites. So if you move off into the sides more you have much less gc traffic. Cant wait to go again then go to Murrells Inlet for an oyster roast, Yummy!!!

The sites are definitely varied then. My site was horrible, couldn't even open my awning and had people within 8 feet of each side and 3 feet off my back bumper. They did have a really nice pool (when a kid didn't poop in it!) and lazy river.

did 2 trips. one was fab. second was near a bathhouse that stunk of sewer. if it hadn't been for the wind changing direction every now and then, we would have suffered.
