There are some really, really good people in this world. There are also a few rotten apples. Unfortunately, it's the rotten apples that get all the publicity. I don't let them bother me - not my problem anyway, their problem. I've been on both ends of this stick, sometimes needing help, sometimes offering help. Makes the Son shine a little brighter that way.

I always stop for RVs. And motorcycles. And pretty much everybody else.
I was driving across the Geo Washington Bridge at 5am as a semi kept flashing its lights at me. At the end of the bridge, there was a 4 or 5-car wait, so I was wondering "what happens now."
The driver ran up to me and handed me the hubcap I lost in one of the potholes.
I'll never believe that noise about NYC drivers being the worst.
I was taking my mother to her dr app't in Pittsburgh on 22E.
Semi passed us and we could see the man's entire key ring hanging in his passenger door.
I sped up (emphasis on "sped") and caught him, honked, flashed the lights, we waved, whole nine yards until he pulled over. I am quite sure he thought we were crazy.
He walked back to me, I asked him "where are your keys" and, when he reached for them, the poor man panicked. "They're in your passenger door lock," I told him.
Never saw such a look of relief.

We have a grocery store down the block where the prices cater to those of us who are on tight budgets. My husband dropped his wallet with over 100 bucks in it and bless it if someone didn't turn it in. I got to repay the favor because a week later I walked out and saw a purse in a buggy and no one around. I wheeled the buggy into the cashier and told her what I had found. As I was walking out I saw a lady with that panic look on her face I knew she had lost the purse and told her who I'd given it to

In Feb on my way to the Keys had a blow out not 10 miles from home. Was on a 2 lane busy road so I backed down a small lane to get away from the traffic. Within a minute a man and his son came down and offered to help. They heard it blow and knew someone would be needing help. They did all the work and would not take a nickel for their help. Does make you think there are still a few good folks out there.

While driving from Tok to Glennallen, AK one arm of the tow bar broke. We were on a downhill curve with no guard rail so I used the whole road to bring the coach to a stop. We stopped in the pullout with a dirt road leading up to a house. By the time I got out of the coach and walked back to inspect the car and tow bar, the resident was down the drive with his pick up asking if he could help..said it wasn't the first time someone pulled off there with trouble and "folks have to take of each other up here".

Oh so many. A few that come to mind. In our car, it just stopped running. A gentleman stopped and helped look under the hood, took us to get parts, and stayed with us til we got it running again. I will never forget that.
There was a lady with a dead car on the side of the interstate. She was walking towards the exit. I stopped immediately, took her to the gas station at the exit, and turned around to circle back to her vehicle. The turn around exit was about 30 miles back, but I didn't care. Didn't want to see another woman walking the freeway.
And just the other day a camper at the Muncho Lake RV campground in British Columbia presented us with a freshly caught (and gutted) lake trout. Delicious!

Quite a few years ago I (DW) was driving home from work in Arlington, TX and saw a young lady that broke down on the side of the freeway off ramp. I went past her then stopped and backed up when it was safe and picked her up and brought her to my home just down the road. She was sooo scared she was shaking on that busy road by herself. She called her mom from my house and her family came to get her and get her car.
A couple hours later that night mom and the young lady I helped knocked on my door and brought me flowers! We all hugged and cried, so scary to be a female by yourself broke down. They were so thankful I did not keep driving and left her there.

He smiled and said thank you and we parted ways. It felt great to help out and I always do.

I help when ever I can but the best one for me was finding a car load of college girls broke down on I75 South going home for spring break. I own a restoration shop and was driving my roll back. I stopped to check on them and the rearend had fried in their little car so I loaded everyone in the truck, had all of them call home and tell them where they were and who I was and where we were going. I brought them all to my house fed everyone pizza and waited for parents to arrive. Had them here for several hours, let them use the pool and had very thankful parents that someone took care of their kids. Later I got cards from all of them and some even stopped by to visit when passing through.
