Differences are the same as between Ford & Chevy or Republican & Democrat or right and left. Everyone bases their choice on personal experience or advice from respected friends.

One major difference between the GS roadside service and AAA's is that AAA is made of a quite a number of local/regional companies. So some do not have coverage (IIRC called Platinum plus or RV coverage) for an RV.
We've had a few of the extended family been left in the lerch because the locol AAA would not tow a trailer or a class A or larger class C.

Tow driver should of done the jump start if that's all you really needed. With Good Sam, like AAA, those who come to your aid are more than likely companies that contract through the road side service. I've had all 3 before: Allstate, AAA and now Good Sam (which I think i've read is now backed by allstate. Tomato...tomahto...With AAA you will probably have to go with a different plan than the regular auto plan for your RV needs. Good Sam covers all. We have the Good Sam platinum. Haven't had to use it yet. Hope we don't have to.

Double ditto. Sometimes you get helpful people and sometimes you get people who are afraid to tell you they don't know how to do the requested job; or even have some other motive.

We have Good Sam's Roadside Assistance but never had to use it yet, thanks be to God.

It sounds like you wanted the tow driver to help you diagnose your problem.

I'm pretty sure neither company will do that...they're paying for "rescue services", not mechanical assistance.

Used AAA several times and have always been pleased with their service. They have boosted batteries for my wife and tested the battery for her when it failed, and changed tires on a couple of occasions. I bet they would want to hear about your experience with that guy.

Right now I have GSam too because of the MHome. I might drop AAA to avoid duplication of coverage but not because of their service to me.

We have both. On our way back home on I95 in Maryland the kids heard a hissing sound, turnoed out to be the left rear losing air. We pulled over on the barely large enough shoulder and called. AAA came jacked it up and put the spare on. Then the tow truck driver led the way to his gas station were we reviewd alll the tires checked for proper inflation and off we went. Worth every penny.

Use to have AAA till they towed us into one of there AAA approved repair shops in TN. When you can't see the floor from the dirt and the building heated with a home made wood burning stove we switched to Good Sam and have had great service from them.

I have a friend in AAA and Yes the $ is better by the mile than just a jump.

I received an offer in the mail the other day from AllState. They have teamed up with KOA and are offering KOA members RV Roadside Assistance. Offer was $79/yr for 2 drivers and unlimited tow mileage. My AAA is $129/yr for RV Plus with just me on it and 100 mile max tow!
