AAA is OK for cars. They were terrible for us and our motorhome problems. They sent out a roll-off tow truck to change a tire. did it again on our DP. They were incredulous that I didn't carry a spare. Told me I needed a tow truck to tow me to a "gas station"
so I could buy a used tire to get me home. I I switched to CoachNet and they have been very knowledgeable about RV problems.

In our chunk of the world you are likely to get the same truck and the same driver - no matter which service you call.

This additional comment has nothing to do with towing - but as far as campground and tourist ratings go AAA/CAA seem to be much more objective than Good Sam. AAA seems more an honest 3rd party evaluation - where Good Sam often seems more a marketing lure that can exaggerate what you're actually getting.

I had two bad tow service events with AAA and then switched to Good Sam. Since then I have called Good Sam 5 times and received good service each time. The agent always asks if I am safe, gives me a time of arrival, and then calls back to check on me.

We have GS. Have used it several times. Was always happy with there help.
Always made sure we were safe while waiting for help to arrive.

I've had AAA+ w/RV, Coachnet and Good Sam. I've been happy with AAA and Good Sam because I haven't had to call them - yet. All three contract with independent auto/RV services and the service is only as good as the independent service provider.

Had a flat on Friday and the jack wasn't in the MH. A friend called AAA and they said they would only cover it if it was the outside trie, not if it was the inside tire?!? It was the inside one, so I just had her take me to Walmart and I bought a jack. I can't imagine what possible difference it makes on a Class C, Ford E350. But, I really just wanted her to take me to get the jack rather than wait for a truck to arrive... I certainly would never consider AAA after that.

I have AAA for my car. Used to have if for the RV when we lived in Calif but dropped the RV coverage for Good Sam when we started traveling a lot. I understand AAA for RV doesn't work in all states. But, when we had Good Sam and had an engine failure while on the I5 in Los Angeles area they took over 6 hours to not find a tow for us and finally told me to call 911. Talked to the tow driver the Highway Patrol sent and he said to get Coachnet. Have had it ever since. Had to have the same rig towed in Seattle and they were there in less than an hour, hooked us up and took us to a Cummins dealer. Great to work with Coachnet and have been happy with them. I still have AAA for the car as we have home insurance with them and they work fine for a car.

Have Good Sam and had to use them once. Excellent service and follow up. Well worth the annual fee.

You get one service per incident. If you request a mobile mechanic and he can't fix it on the side of the road then per your contract you have to pay out of your pocket for the tow. To prevent customer service problems on the incident, the tow, instead of the mobile mechanic gets you to a place where they have the facility to fix it.
