Well... we only had one little mishap and it was upon our arrival home. First my disclaimer, my husband USUALLY drives & backs the motor home very well. With that said, he didn't back it into the RV port properly and in trying to make the needed adjustment somehow he managed to get right up against it with the awning cover. All the while I'm behind the motor home where he can see me in the camera, giving the signals we've used for years. I can tell he's too far right and then I'm yelling "noooo" when I see it all happen. Unfortunately he didn't pay attention to much of anything, including our neighbor who was in our front yard watering the flowerbeds for us when we got home. Rick was out front flailing his arms and yelling. ::: sigh ::: We have a new rule from this experience though. We'll turn off the generator and open the driver's window before backing from now on.

The good news is the awning is still usable, the cover is flattened a bit and scratched but he says he can fix it. The flattened trim on the RV Port will take some work, too. If that's the worst dang it moment we have this year we'll be in good shape. These life lessons.... other than that we had a FABULOUS long weekend!

cat&jim: my rule for backing into a spot is no noise inside the rv of any kind, both front windows open, and open-mic iphones for me and the spotter.

Probably the worse thing that could happen to a family where the first night you grill hotdogs and hamburgers. You forgot to put the ketchup in the MH. Man you would have thought the world had ended, 6 very upset kids. Luckly the next day we picked some up. OMG

I think I'd be asking my neighbor for ketchup...

We had a great weekend camping with friends at an Ohio State Park. No problems, except...DH took out the between the wheels choks, and the yellow plastic ones were stuck. He pulled forward a little I took the back one out, he didn't hear me, kept going and shattered the other one sending shards of plastic everywhere. Darn if the shards that hit me didn't even bring a drop of blood so I could at least complain about pain and milk it!

The old forgot to put the attena down and did not realize until it caught a low branch on the highway. I will end up ripping it from the roof at some point.

My fridge stopped operating on propane. Should have been running for week over in storage to get cold. Check light was on as we started to pack. Fortunately the 300w inverter ran the fridge fine from the battery while packing and enroute. Fairly cold on arrival and got plugged in so we were fine. Poked around with the multimeter the next day and I think the 12v terminals on the gas valve were corroded enough to prevent operation. After wiggling stuff around it started working. So no real mishap but I almost brought an ice chest.

Lets see, I missed a storage compartment not getting locked only to see it bounce open at 60 mph. High winds buffeted the trailer around to the point that I considered changing position in the middle of the night.

Both of those pale in comparison to Dad forgetting to grab the box of dog treats. Three schnauzers gave me cow eyes all weekend and then snubbed me when the best I could do was Ritz crackers. lol
