My wife and I bought a 2001 Palimino Stampede travel trailer. It has a “pop out” on the front of it. We tried out the camper our first time a couple of weeks ago and noticed that you can feel the hinge from the pop out through the mattress. Any suggestions on how to reduce or eliminate it? Thoughts we have now are to get a normal RV queen mattress.

You might try something like an aerobed air mattress. They are very comfortable and would fold up out of the way when deflated. Or a sheet of plywood to provide a smooth surface for your current mattress.

My concerns on getting another thicker mattress might put pressure on the fold-down door and disrupt the required weather sealing pressure. Not saying what you are thinking about doing wont work just something to consider by adding more thickness to the original design.
My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - PM me

After looking at Camping World, wondering if a mattress topper would do the trick?

Purchase a 2 or 3 inch memory topper from Wal-Mart. Not the ones with the egg-crate design,
ours is just solid, flat foam and VERY comfortable. I think it was about $128 bucks. Well worth the money.

I got the 4" one from wally world and it sits on top of an air mattress. It has to be the most comfortable bed I have slept on in years.

Yeah this is going to sound dumb, but why not put the word "Computer" in front of that oft misused forum title?

The normal course of action is to go the mattress topper route, we use a 3" from Costco. Works well but it's fairly hot to sleep on, same as the one we use at home.
