I have a friend who owns two lots. One in south and one in north. They drive between the two. Not what I like but it sort of works for them. They looked at Heritage, said the lots were very close and therefore not desirable. I would rarely stay in one if not visiting friends. I really don't like being asked the length of my motorhome or age. I have a 2012 and am still offended. I don't object to someone with a little rust parked near. It can be an 88 or 2008 and makes no matter if the people are pleasant and enjoying themselves and respecting me. I have met some really nice people on the road. They come in large rigs, small rigs, rust and polished and I do believe you get in if you pay the fee and follow the rules. The rest is discrimination which I do not like. Nice clean parks with great amenities are wonderful and usually pretty pricey and if you have the money it should be your ticket to get in. I no longer frequent restaurants with dress codes either although my tolerance for crying babies is not what it used to be and I feel I should send letters to all the folks who had to hear ours.

Couldn't agree more with the crying baby thing.....BUT, this is still america right? We have member only country clubs, women's clubs, mens clubs, moose lodges and right in there are class A only RV resorts with restrictions. These folks pay some pretty hefty prices and monthly fees and though I may not personally like it and do agree with the poster above it is their RIGHT as land owners to make certain restrictions. Heck, I can't get into some of the class A only resorts even though my coach is new and probably cost more than 90% of the one's in these resorts I still respect their rights to make the rules.....I just take my cash elsewhere if I come across one of them that won't let me in.

http://fountainlakervpark.webplus.net/ For those considering a 'membership' park in the north central region of the country, may I suggest this very nice well equiped park. Most lots are in the 10 grand range. 11 miles west of Waupaca WI, 30 miles east of Stevens Point. Most lots have yard sheds. Lake is a 5 minute golf cart ride.

I'll have to stop by that park in Almond for a stay. Looks great. Wonderful price and I'll bet it is quiet in the summer and very pleasant.

I agree that it is your property and you can control who uses it. I had no intention of suggesting it is unlawful to discriminate against age or size of rig. I just was commenting that I don't enjoy a park that filters the clientele. I prefer a good mix of folks and have a you all come attitude. $99 per night for the water sites at the Heritage will filter out a bunch of us.

I agree with Golden pretty much... except that my tolerance for crying babies seems to have improved. Let me add that I don't like the "over 55" parks. I like listening to kids playing and knowing that they're exercising and having fun. Makes me remember my childhood and the fun I had.

It it's the park owners' "right" to exclude customers on the basis of age or type of RV or how old their RV is then it's my right to avoid them like the plague.

When we had kids we tried to find an RV park in Yuma that would let us spend the Christmas holidays with the DW's parents who were snowbirding there. Every park we looked at excluded children. Finally we managed to talk a park - not the one the in-laws were staying in - to allow us to spend a week there with a girl (17) and a boy (11). Our kids were treated like criminals the entire time.

We not only avoid parks that do not allow children... we avoid Yuma!

I agree on the exclusion of children as well. I just can't get that up tight about other peoples motorhomes or children. Sometimes it gets a little noisy but so what. I don't live in senior housing either.

Looks nice, but it just reminds me of a gated community with housing that allows a person to park his coach next to his house. But like somebody else mentioned above, to each his own. The rich usually do not mingle with the middle class. LOL!
