Y'all are sad sad people. I just tried to post my experience and my solution. You had to turn it into a mud fight. I hope you had fun. It's a sad thing where people just have to prove other people wrong to make themselves feel whole. Glad I was able to help your dependencies. Won't be doing this again for some time. You don't need me feeding your disease.

Dude, I truly feel bad about all you went thru. If I went thru what you have and have your rig running good and could sell it with the fact that it has all those new parts I would drop that thing in a heartbeat.

OP, I am glad things worked out. You did your homework, knew the 6.0 is a pig, bought it anyway, and someone else paid for your mistake.
You gambled and won. You should feel wonderful.

And I am feeling very good about this Ford, to be honest.

And to be able to say this after what you went through says a lot. You are true BLUE.

The peanut gallery on the 6.0 usually use the rear, not the front.

Driving elephants do strange things to you...

They just can't understand when people can get 500hp reliably (over 100,000 miles) out of this engine, when properly modded.

Or when unmodded, it works fine as long as certain things are done right.

Just more pablum from someone who has GUZZLED the 6.0 Kool-Aid. Everyone but you realizes it is a terd.

Update: Got the truck back, running great. Fingers are crossed... I managed to ask about other things as noted, they would throw codes that their equipment would have caught. They did not check the EGR cooler, but said it had no symptoms (codes, white smoke, etc). All flashes updated (FICM and two others). Back on the road tomorrow, hopefully for the whole trip this time!

Watch the wrench light.

If it comes on, one indication is that the Engine Coolant Temp and Engine Oil Temp exceeded 15 degrees F and it is impending oil cooler and EGR cooler failure.

Friends had a brand new 6.0 Excursion, it sounded real bad rough idle. Defective plastic parts, not sure what that was all about. They got it fixed under warranty and dumped it. Like this poor guy should do.

Yep...only real fix for a 6.doh is to dump it or to DESTROKE it.

Glad to hear you got it fixed and the dealer took care of you. Sorry but you can't have a thread about any 6.0 or 6.0 on here without all the same bashers jumping on it. Its a shame they have nothing better to do.
Glad your up and running.

Other side of the coin... Brother in law owned a RAM 6.7 and after a year of too many trips to the shop just to keep it running he unloaded it!

The moral of the 6.7 Cummins story, You can polish that turd all day long... but at the end of the day your still left holding a turd.

He had much better reliability with the 04 6.0 psd (6.0 psd - 5 years of ownership, 6.7 cummins <1 year of ownership).

OP... Enjoy many years and miles out of your 6.0 psd! I know I did!
