Just got a KOA discount card to use this summer since we will be making many overnight stops there. I noticed the AllState RV Road help is $75 for a year. I haven't renewed our Good Sams yet. We have been going back and forth on whether we need it or not. We will travel 5,000 plus miles this summer as we do every summer. Last summer was the first time I had to call Good Sam's, and they weren't able to help us with our problem. Is AllState a reasonable alternative to Good Sam's?
I have searched the forums and read the responses. I would like to know what personal experience has been.
Thanks!

Last I heard Allstate is handing the dispatch for Good Sam.

I've been using Allstate RV Road Service since 1997. I've had to use them numerous times and they have always been fast responding. Had an accident in PA and they stayed on the line until a wrecker got there. Paid for three days of motel and eating bills, plus reimbursed me for the rent car.

The KOA membership is included.

I highly recommend them.

I would not go around the corner let alone 5000 miles without roadside assistance, but that is just me. We've had the RV towed twice and had a wheel bearing replaced on the side of the road. We have had both Good Sam and now Allstate RV Help. We have had one occassion to use the Allstate plan. They found a tow company that responded quickly and towed the car to the nearest dealer no questions asked. Signed the tow driver's form and that was it.

Be aware that if the Allstate brochure still says you get a free KOA card, you will not get it with the KOA discount rate. It is one or the other, not both.

Safe travels!

I really hope not. I had nothing but bad experiences with Allstate. Good Sam has been responsive for me though.

Allstate dispatches for Good Sam. Have had Allstate for 10 years and used them several times - excellent response time and service. My KOA card that I get every year gets me the standard KOA discount. By the way, I also have called them for advice and they were great.

Interesting. We may try Allstate this year. Do they service in Canada? We are headed to Calgary.

Others are correct that Good Sam contracts with Allstate for the ERS. Contracts may be different but the same company is doing the dispatching.

We've had them for years. Only used them twice, and not towing. Both times were great fast service.
