I'd like to add we've had several folks report that they have had CO fumes in their RV when parked alone boondocking when running their genset. Depending on how and where the exhaust is located fumes can collect under the RV and even slight breezes can cause a concentration of CO in and around an RV.
Personally I won't stay in or near an RV without a Genturi put the fumes above the RV; and we have measured noise levels without the Genturi and with the Genturi pointed up the sound levels were decreased.

Ive seen diesels with the genny exhaust exit near the front tire... then the occupants had the slide out with the window open not 3' away.

"John Wayne"....very good point about where the air is drawn from.

The Genturi is a very well made product and is onsale at Camping World as stated above for $139.00. I like to build my own stuff, but as I said it's well made and comes with a carrying bag. Many have built their own, but it is one of the items I believe you should buy form the manufacturer. There just isn't enough savings in the long run.

I will add that I didn't like the unfinished end that you must add to your generator tail pipe. I welded on a nut/bolt behind their tailpipe mounting tip that allows me to attach a chrome tip that twists on and off.

If it is hooked up properly, there should not be any excessive backpressure to bother anything, but if you connect it solidly to the generator exhaust pipe, you will have effectively changed the manufacture specification pressure of the exhaust system. Never have heard of anyone getting their warranty killed because of using a Gen-turi.

I actually bought my Gen-turi from Cummins in Greensboro while getting service work done on my engine. Wouldn't have thought they would have sold them if there was a warranty issue.

A properly installed Gen-turi does not create any additional back pressure. The roof top A/C is a closed system that does not draw any outside air into the RV. The inside air is cooled and recirculated, while the outside air is used to dissipate the extracted heat to the outside, the same way a refrigerator works.

I agree with Dutch. I use a Gen-Turi all the time while at the track and it works terrific. One thing that I do is put my roof vent fans on low; this allows me to keep the vents open when the gunny is on and the ac is off.

Just go to the Cummins/Onan website and review their warranty. They have a full section devoted to why they can void the warranty with this type of exhaust extension. If you have burn't valves and the wrong dealer sees your hook-up, he will only approve what the manufacturer approves of. And yes if all the exhaust has to slip stream up the pipe, then there IS additional backpressure for the engine to pump that exhaust up the pipe.

Don't kill the messenger. Look it up.

Good Luck

Live on,

Have you ever looked at a Genturi? Your description of the bad things it can cause leads one to believe you have never seen one. There is NO exhaust restriction.
