I get the same temperature reading on my 6.2 when towing. It runs at 190 degrees without trailer anyway so that sounds about right.

Will be towing my new TT up some long grades next wknd. What temp could i get to without damageing my tranmission. It runs around 197 degrees while in town. 2011 F150 6.2 with 6 speed torgue shift trans. My 06 ran around 180 degrees. just like having the info. joe

Tranny temps are progressive.

It's not like 200 is ok and 205 will blow up your tranny. It just does not work like that.

It works like 225 is fine but 200 is better. The lower you can keep your tranny temp the better. (to a point)

160 to 200 is ideal IMHO.

My '02 2500HD ran 200 according to the dash gage memorial day weekend. I was in 3rd gear doing 68~70 MPH, ambient was 95 degrees F. Trans was in tow haul so TCC was locked up, I was pulling our brick of a travel trailer. This was over the course of a 90 mile drive.

My 2012 F150 runs at 193 unloaded; it's normal point. On our recent 3,300 mile towing trip, I never saw a trans temp over 197. It manages itself very nicely. We hit some pretty good sized climbs in NW Arkansas and it never budged more than a couple of degrees. We have the Max Tow package and that might make some difference.

The hottest temps you'll likely see will be while backing your trailer into it's spot in the campground after a long hot day getting there. Little airflow over the cooler and a lot of sheer in the torque converter maneuvering the trailer around. The trans temp light and software action took place at around 256*F in my last Dodge but I never saw temps over 220*F. The newer fully synthetic trans fluids should be good to 315*F if I remember the number correctly. I'd keep a glance at it and not worry about it. Sounds like a nice truck!

Glad you like it!

What it also says is that if you sneezed in the truck Ford will record it in memory.

Check the little disclosure and consent in the owners manual about the collection and use of data.

I like this. I'm sure I'm not the only one tired of paying for others' misuse and abuse through higher MSRP and insurance premiums.
