We just took possesion of our Evergreen 28FK, 2010 model.

I know our cold weather members have said that they have issues with keeping certain things stored in the TT during winter. Do we in the south have to worry about certain things with the heat? Ours will have a hard cover over it in the backyard, mostly shaded.
I'm just wondering if there are things my southern neighbors don't keep in there with the heat and moisture we have down here?

If it is covered and you are able to keep windows or vents open to reduce the humidity it will help keep mold and mildew down. If it has to be closed get some "Damp Rid" containers and space them around inside to absorb the moisture. As previously stated don't keep any food inside, you will invite mold not to mention every creature in the area. I also sprinkle insect granules around to keep the ants etc. away.

We use Damp rid containers & keep 2 overhead vents (Max air covers) open year round. We don't have the luxury of a cover at storage lot. Also use peppermint cotton balls + mouse traps just in case of a critter.

No, I wasn't going to keep any food at all. Thanks for the Damp Rid tip. We plan to open the windows a bit every couple of weeks.

I take no special precautions and still keep a few non perishable food items in mine in north Florida.

If we are planning to make several smaller trips, we don't empty the pantry. Instead, we run the AC unit on low at about 80 degrees. It doesn't run much, but it keeps the unit from getting overly hot. It's nice to be able to make smaller trips without having to empty everything each time.
