I spent 17 years in Law Enforcement. Was just starting my 18th year and got hurt on the job. Sucks to go out that way but I couldn't let one of my fellow officers get hurt because of me. the mind said not ready to quit but the body said "what the h... were you thinking?"

25 years as a medic this year, 18 years volunteer FF and 5 years professional. Camping became passion as we realized we wanted to make lots of memories with our son. Still working, still camping.

Mods should keep in mind - F/F & PD folks are involved in a lot more recreational activities than other occupations due to work schedules.
That should equate to business for RV industries of all types!
Be nice for Marcus to let 'em run!
Maybe somebody should invite him to a firehouse somewhere for a meal and some chit-chat (tell him what you do on your days off) - maybe even a ride-along!.
Both myself and the DW are retired Law Enforcement (28 and 27 years respectively)Although we both have other jobs now, we enjoy our camping time and have camped on and off our entire lives. We now have a group of about 10 other RV's that are all freinds and have either retired or still on the job. We make camp outs every 2 months with this group and have a good relaxing time.
See y'all down the road. Be safe,

It took me 6 years to get to this position and For the first time in my career im gonna not have to worry about resumes, classes, interviews. Anymore and it sure is *****in. We have been struggling like any other so cal dept but its starting to level out now. Im 3rd gen but weve all worked for different departments and I really couldnt ask for any better in my life. I truly am blessed.
I may be a little different in that I dont have any stickers on my trucks or toys and dont wear ff t shirts off duty. Its not that im not proud of it, its just that I am there a third of my life and I really like to keep my work and family life seperate. We dont really talk about it at family get togethers and its the way we like it. Also in Caljfornia there has been a growing hatred/resentment towards public safety because of our pay and benefits. I dont really like people knowing how I make and spend my money ( toyhaulers, jetskis, big trucks....the usual) and I dont like people knowing that I only work ten days a month because its really none of their business haha. Anyways I dont mean to rant. Thanks
Yet you describe your personal life more than anyone in this thread.
well you dont see me doing it in any other threads do you? I only did it because this is the firefighter/ cop thread. Just venting to some people who may have something in common with me. I take it you just dont agree with me or??? From now on just skip my posts so you dont get your panties in a bunch and feel the need to make stupid comments.
