Hello smart forum people. My wife and I are thinking about getting an RV again. I've had a Holiday Rambler TT, a Jaco Kiwi HTT and an Itasca Class A motorhome. I've done tent camping, backpacking and car camping and I love all of it. Each is different but all are fun.
I've just started looking at RVs again and am trying to get smart on what's available. We sold the motorhome a few years ago and haven't kept up with what's out there. We have three boys age 8, 6 and 3 plus two dogs. We are thinking that a HTT would suit our needs, most of the comforts of a TT while still getting the camping feeling. We like the floor plans of the Roo/Shamrock 233S because of the three beds, slide and U dinette. Are there any other manufactures that are making the same or similar floor plan that we should consider?

the OP wants a 3-bed hybrid with a slideout. this one doesn't. most brands have a 3-bed hybrid but only a few have one with a slideout.

Yep, the Roo 233s sounds like what you should get. Having owned a popup with a slide out dinette and now the Roo 23ss I doubt I'd ever be happy with a camper without a slide. Been more than pleased with the Roo's quality and how she's held up for 7 seasons.
It's an easy albeit long day's tow across the PA Turnpike and I70 to western Ohio and RVWholesalers where they have a dozen or so on order for immediate sale as soon as they come off the assembly line in Indiana. Custom order time can be 8-12 weeks but their "on order" selections are usually fully equipped. We bought our 23ss there and highly recommend them (and their prices!). We bought an "on order" Roo from RVW and it was delivered within a week! Sometimes you get lucky. I'd contact them ASAP. You can make the down payment on your credit card. Price will not change between the contract and delivery. No hidden charges.
At $3.50 gallon for gasoline figure on $120 for fuel over to RVW and $200 home. Add that to the trailer's price and you'll still save several thousand dollars buying there. Several nice campgrounds within minutes of their location.

I go with the slide as well. While ours is just a small slide with the sofa being on the slide, there is a world of difference on interior space with the slide out. Would never go back to one without.

We bought our ROO at RVW also. We had a great purchasing experience with them. Plus the fact that we 've had it for seven years without any issues due to the quality of construction. We had a minor issue woith the awning and they sent the parts, as I told them I could do it myself, and all was said and done. They gave me the option of taking it to a dealer in our area and send them the bill but it was a simple fix for me to do. Well worth your time to check them out.

Thanks dan. I had considered the Jayco but think the U dinette and larger water tanks on the 233S would be better for the five of us. I hadn't looked at the Palomino but again think the U dinette would be better.

Thanks Padlin. I really would like one with the slideout though. When I started my search I ran across the Surveyor SP-224T but then yesterday "found" the ROO/Shamrock 233S models that have the slides. It sure opens up the camper with the additional space.
