Staying at nice resort in Ocean City, MD and was surprised that initial night charge was for two and additional adult guests were 12 dollars each per night. Nice place but can't figure rationale. Usually sites either didn't care how may people were in our party or over four we were charged. Just curious if others had similar experiences.

We've stayed at a number of parks where the basic charge only included two guests. The rationale I suppose for the additional charge, regardless of the count, would be the extra water, electric, and sewer usage, as well as the extra use of any other park amenities, swimming pools and such. It seems to me that the more family with kids oriented parks would likely have a higher initial "body count" than perhaps an over 55 oriented park.

More and more parks are doing it. It's almost become the standard today. Although 12 dollars seems a little high. I find in $4.00 to $6.00 is more the norm. You must have been in one of those High Faluton parks. Wondering if they gave you door to door service for that rate. We'll look at the bright side you got to impress you company. LOL.... Bill

Agreed. Expenses have gone up for everyone in the last few years, this is one way to keep the advertised price close to the same and still increase revenue.

There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

Four people doesn't equal "scum", it means $24 more to the bottom line. JMHO

I would bet this was not a "family" park but is the op said a resort ..catering to an older crowd traveling in twos .. This increases revenue and discourages large groups in one site ( noise) all in one time . we've stayed in many parks hat do this ( not st 12 bucks but....) and yes the last park similar to this We stayed at ( a resort ) did have a paper delivered to the RV door ea day .. Kinda like "room service" ! LOL

My post's are my opinion The advice, comments etc are free and worth what you paid

Not a fancy exclusive place, BUT does have a beach, which might be a contributing factor. Family oriented. All kinds of units. No door to door service. Would pay it again, but just thought it seemed a little high.

Agreed it seems high but if you have a lake front access and beach thats all private plus a bath house etc 12.00 is cheap compared to a hotel with the same imenities.
The owners have to keep it prestine plus turn a profit
