That's not uncommon anymore. What I am not happy with is parks charging extra for pets.

More and more parks are doing it. It's almost become the standard today. Although 12 dollars seems a little high. I find in $4.00 to $6.00 is more the norm.

Agreed. Expenses have gone up for everyone in the last few years, this is one way to keep the advertised price close to the same and still increase revenue.

I agree it may be to keep a low base price.

Locally McDonald's has a sign up there is a charge for things like dipping sauce, etc. Some do not remember it but at one time some vehicles did not come standard with engine oil filters, heaters, rear bumpers on trucks, etc.

We have seat belts for seven. Having a beach I can see how loading up a load to get beach access could happen.

I stayed at the Elizabethtown/Hershey KOA in October. Wanted to have 2 friends join us for dinner one evening and they charged us $20 for them to visit for approx. 2 hours. That, IMHO, is excessive!!

Hi,

The chances of one extra person creating $4.00 in extra charges to the park is totally invalid. It is a cash grab plain and simple.

Just about every RV park (not resort) we have stayed at the base price was for 2 adults with an extra charge for any above that. But $2-$4 is what I have normally seen. $24 is way too much. "Resort" designation gets that extra I guess.
No different that hotel/motels. Most base their rates on 2 adults with extra charge for more.

it maybe excessive, but i have witnessed a couple renting a site for a tent trailer, and having 24 of their closest friends for a beer party. not fun to camp next to. not to mention the overuse of the campsite, and amenities. this comes from some abusing the privilege. a beach side campground is ripe for just that kind of situation. that said, a 5 dollar charge should cover each guest, for a day. excess cuts both ways

I have a problem with sites that are designed for 2-4 quest here comes Jed and the "Clampetts" with 6-8 kids along with adults that dump the kids on the park with minimum supervision.

We noticed the additional charge for guest visiting us while we were camping in the PA area a few years back. Dogs were not allowed to bark eithor. They were having a terrible time convincing the dogs accross the road of this rule. This is the first time we had ran up on this stupid charge and rule. Needless to say we will not visit again.
But there is a cost hike on several things these days, hair cuts in my home town went from $10 to $12. This I'll have to put up with, staying at a park where guest have to pay, I do not.

Totally but for what reason?

If I had a dollar for every business this past week that discussed how they could grab some more cash so they did not have to layoff staff or close then my money needs would be more than met.
