I haven't seen the word volksmarch since I was a military brat growing up in Germany. Our family would hit one of these up probably once a month when the weather was nice. I had no idea there were groups doing it here in the US.

Crazy Horse Mountain is quite a feat using only donations and accepting no
Government help. The Indian Nation asked one of the sculptures on Mt Rushmore
to do this mountain and he has passed away. His family is still continuing
this great effort. It will be larger than Mt. Rushmore when finished. The native American Indian deserve this monument to their people. The taxpayers paid for Rushmore but this will be built on free donations from all over the USA. SO I WOULD NOT CALL IT A "BOONDOGGLE"
