Hello folks,

I'm in a seasonal where we can't use AC since it's only a 15 amp service. Any draw backs or potential issues to consider before I pull that cool wire from the screw terminal in the thermostat? My thermostat is low and I'm afraid my kids will flick it to cool, I do plan on changing it to a digital thermostat at some point also.

thx

Why not simply turn the AC breaker off at the breaker panel?

With these electronic's and computer boards today, I'd think twice before pulling a wire on a hot unit. As Donn stated, just kill the breaker.

Thanks folks, I'm still getting use to the infrastructure of these Camping trailers since this is my first time.

Of course I would have pulled the cool wire on both ends.

Is there some value in keeping it powered up so that you can run the fan? If you have a wall themostat, just set the temperature up to its highest level and/or set it to a fan-only state.

Hi,

Have you checked the voltage (under load) to see if it still might be adequate to run the air conditioner? Just use the microwave with a cup of water in it as a load and monitor what happens.
