When we turn on our hot water it make a high pitch noise. Thought it might have to do with pressure in last campground, but we have now moved and it is still doing it. Any suggestions.

Is the noise coming from the tap? or the hot water heater itself.

If the noise is only when drawing hot water from the tank, it could be a Backflow preventer is broken on the tank. The parts inside it are rattling and will make a heck of a noise. We have had it happen twice. High pitched squeals etc.

I think it is operating normally. When our water heater is operating on electric, we can hear it and the noise could be considered a high hum. I think we can hear ours because of its location. It is in the basement but behind a wooden vent panel under the pantry in the kitchen area. We only hear the noise when water is heating.

Have you flushed the water heater with a wand? If you are in a hard water area, the it gets build up on the heating element. Might have to remove the element and clean it by hand. If while flushing it with a wand you get a lot of white stuff out, then I would pull the element. Be sure to turn off the AC before draining the tank. I have to flush mine twice a winter in Arizona.
