Where does everyone put their entry ladder step while in transit? I've been placing mine in a lower storage cabinette and its a pain in the butt to climb in get them out without scratching etc. then jump down and extend for use. There has got to be a better way.

If you have a rear exterior storage compartment, that would be a good place to keep them. I didn't have a storage compartment available on my last camper, so I just threw the steps on the floor of the aisle and climbed in and got them out. When the trailer was hooked up, I used the trailer tongue as a step. A permanently mounted folding step would be nice.

We put ours in a cardboard box on the floor out of the way, and use a 3ft step ladder to get in and out while traveling. The step ladder we set just inside the door on the floor so it's easy to reach and then while set up we have the step ladder to reach outside access doors etc.

The slickest set up I have ever seen fabricated is discussed on the Northern Lite Owners Club forum here :

Nice if you have a trailer - it pivots the step off at an angle to the camper if you have a trailer hooked up..

I leave mine on the back of the camper. We tried the removing and attaching thing for one trip but that got old real fast. I came up with a bracket that the bottom rung rests in which is welded to a rear rack attached to the truck receiver and takes the weight off the camper. It's own weight keeps the steps in the bracket. Over 10,000 miles later and so far so good.

I bungee them to a Hitch hauler. Also lock down with a cable after I found a replacement would cost almost $400!

Mine fold up and set on the rear bumper. It works well as the door can still open and they are easily accessible.

I leave mine attached during trips. Rubber bumpers or a skid plate are needed to prevent the steps from scratching the surface of the camper where they touch.
