Has anyone replaced there MSW inverter with a PSW inverter.
Seems this is my only option if I want to be able to use
my Krups Automatic Espresso Machise. We do a lot of dry camping
and cranking generator at 4 or 5 in the morning will now win
me any friends..............

No problem. And when it's in, no problems.

Wonder why you need a PSW rather then a MSW? A heating element won't know the difference. Electronic circuitry using a step down transformer wouldn't know either.

Just curious.

The controller circuitry in the Krups might. Don't really know. Sooner or later something won't like it.

Ah! Roughing it. Dry camping with the old expresso machine!

Seriously, are you sure it won't work with the MSW? Expensive upgrade for those tiny little cups of coffee.

FWIW, my Keurig (admittedly not the same thing) works fine on my MSW inverter as does the TV, surround sound, PS2, iMac and countless gadget chargers. The only thing I have had fail that might be implicated was the charger for a B&D Dustbuster.

Replacing should not be a problem, size, mounting and wires. Just make sure you get one big enough, capacity .

Works great with Generator running and won't even come on with inverter.
Several responses on TRVN tells me my only options are to change coffee maker or inverter.
I'm really fond of my coffee.
Hopefully I can find a tech that will do this on the side as paying a dealer will get pricey..........
I enjoy roughing it smoothly...................

You could add a small dedicated PSW inverter just for the coffee machine. Inverter/chargers are expensive a simple 600 to 1000 watt PSW inverter only is cheap.

What is the load on you Krups and how long does it run.

I always try to avoid high(er) powner draw appliances on my inverter as the battery draw is very high and the inverter effiecancy drops rapidly at high loads.

I too enjoy a good cup of coffee early in the morning but my Capresso takes quite a bit of juice grinding the beans then brewing....about 15 miutes or so total at about 90 amps DC.

FYI, the Capresso works just fine on MSW.
