I have a 12 cup one I think I got in the sporting goods section of Wal Mart, also have an 8 cup (origin unknown) they both are the old blue speckled enamel type and have held up well. Bass Pro Shops have a 8,9, and 14 cup one of the same style.$30-$35.

We always carry a metal pot for those times when we are boondocking. The one we got is blue and I wouldn't recommend it as its pretty cheap. I'm hoping to see rust soon so I can ditch it and get another but the coffee tastes like coffee. I saw one at our little hardware store that was really nice, heavy and sturdy feeling, but it wasn't cheap.
I have bought several at church rummage sales. I just got rid of my two extra ones and sent them to Goodwill. I should have asked here is anyone wanted one.
And free, I know you cannot sell things here.
I'm looking for a 12 cup (or a little larger) coffee percolator to use over a fire or on a propane stove.
The reason I'm asking here is because I have done extensive internet research and found that many of the most popular/major models, have problems with flimsy interior parts and/or a percolator bulb (glass or plastic) that fails early-on.
Has anybody had a good experience with a particular make/model that stands up to the task over time?
Please, I realize there are any number of ways to make coffee other than a percolator, but I am looking for this particular item, so don't suggest a press, stand-alone drip, etc.
Thanks for your response!!
I use a big enameled coffee perc works fine bought it for fish camp in Canada use it now 20 years later. Blue speckled thing walmart has them.
