We love national parks but find we always run out of fresh water. When this happens we send the kids off with 2 1/2 gallon containers to fetch more and then we dump it into the tank, repeating this several times. The kids have fun with it as we tease them about being colonial kids. Anyway, we need a good food grade funnel that bends on the end so we can pour it in w/o spilling it down the side of the mh. I can't seem to find one that is food grade. I can find several for adding oil to the car, but they scare me. Can anyone offer a suggestion as to where to find one or on an alternate method that I haven't thought of? Thanks!

I've used a paper plate rolled into a cone and held together with duct tape many times (handy and disposable). Also, cut the large end of a gallon milk jug off and use it as a funnel.

I would just get a funnel of any type of the right size and wash it thoroughly before use. You're not going to leach chemicals of any type out of a funnel, in the brief period of time it's in contact with water while filling it.

Food grade materials are tested and regulated for continuous and long-term contact, like food processing and packaging. That's not what you are doing here.

I just did a Google search for Food Grade Funnels. There were seversl hits.
Is there a restaurant supply or home brewing store in your area?

Another idea I have used. Get extra cap that fits water jugs. Drill it and put in a fitting. Attach a length of clear vinyl water hose. Now it is quick & easy to transfer water from jug to ,RV tank.

My collapsible 5-gallon jug has a cap with a flip-out spout. Take the cap to a home improvement store and get a 3' piece of clear tubing that fits on the spout. I think mine uses 3/8" ID. Carry the water to the camper, flip the spout, slide the hose on, and you are good to go.

If you have different containers, get a big funnel at the auto parts store, run it through the dishwasher, and it will be fine.

We have one, it has measuring graduations, a snap on lid for the large end with a clear plastic tube and a plug. It and the lid are opaque. I would suggest looking in a kitchen supply like store.

I don't see how a clean oil funnel would contaminate the water in the brief time of contact with it.

Why bother refilling the fresh water tank? Just extend the hose you use for winterizing to the outside of the camper, fill a 5 gallon container or bucket with water and drop the hose in.
