I was wondering if anyone has either done, or knows how I would go about doing a conversion that would allow me to open and/or close the entry door without leaving the drivers seat? I am disabled and have great difficulty with stairs so my thought is having the ability to let my 5 year old in without having to go open the door and close it behind him could be of great benefit.
The Auto Loc kit should do what you are looking for. This has been around in the hotrod world forever. Any good custom body shop should be able to do this for you. You should be able to retain normal door open functions as well. You may Google some and find it for less money, but Auto Loc does a pretty god job on this kind of stuff.
From what I can see, that would "pop" the door open but not close it... could solve half the problem but would much prefer a full open, full close option.. cant believe it isn't out there.

The Newell is nice but not a fan of the mid-coach door. More i importantly, that coach is a few bucks out of my price range.
But you may be able to buy an aftermarket Newell door and retro-fit it to your coach. Or, call Newell, explain your issue and perhaps they can tell you how it works or where to get one. As with most manufacturers they likley buy the mechanism somewhere.

You make a good point sir... I shall give that a whirl. I had seen, by accident actually, a remote door opener made by a scooter-lift company. Now that I need it, can't find it for love nor money. Go figure.
