I just bought the Cuisinart stainless stowaway set and have to share that they are fantastic!

They nest beautifully, will take up little room, and are full size, heavy bottom pans, and cook almost as well as my All-Clad that I use in my home.

I haven't actually cooked in the RV with them yet, but I made dinner at home in them to test them out and am truly amazed that such a quality set is available for under $100.

What's your favorite cookware for your RV?

Garage sale odds and ends. All heavy stainless steel that have worked for me for years. Like yours, mine fit together but that is because if they did not I replace them with a new find. I have one cast iron frying pan that belonged to my great grandmother that I take to use over the fire.
I have an expensive set of pans made for camping that are just too small. They work well for backpacking but are not practical for everyday cooking and baking.

I bought a nestable set with removable handles by Jamie Oliver/Tfal. I really like them as they are lightweight and store easily in our LTV Sprinter Class B. More recently, I purchased a portable induction burner for the B kitchen. Since only the pan and the food get hot, it really eliminated the heat buildup from using the propane burners. Purchase some additional, induction compatible cookware, a set from Sears, and a pan from Tramontina's Lyon collection. That pan also allows you to roast and bake on top of the stove or induction burner. It is an excellant pan. Love this new setup so well I also use it in our house kitchen. Very easy cleanup, too.

I saw that Jamie Oliver set and almost got it. I usually try to do a lot of cooking before we leave and just heat it up. Sometimes I bring my crockpot but truly I could probably get away with just using a 2qt pot and 10 inch skillet. Hard anodized and cast iron, respectively.

WOW! You are set up really well. I am considering the portable induction burner myself!

We just have different odds and ends. Our favorite is our cast iron stuff, of course it is our favorite at home too.

Well no RV @ my residence but I do enjoy using CI skillets and one 3 qt Capahalon pot, straight from the Goodwill store, whilst tent camping .

When I'm doing a bit of entertaining, I make sure to pack my lobster pot as well.
I did treat self to an Armetale grill tray this year, and I hope to have fun making grilled nachos and maybe do a steak or two on it.

I envy you your induction burner, GailS ! Nice cooking toy!

gaylec,

If you are considering an induction burner, check out the new PIC from Nuwave on their website www.nuwavepic.com. I have heard good rewiews about it and to get two for $100.00 + S/H is a pretty good value. I would have purchased them if there were available when I made my purchase. I'd have one for home use and one for the RV.

GoDogs,

I don't think the Jamie Oliver set is still available. I bought mine about 5 years ago. It actually contains the pieces you use and I never found the need for any additional sizes. I know this is a personal preference but I like it because it is non stick, but am aware that is not the choice for some cooks.

One large and heavy stainless steel saucepan from a yard sale.
One large granite-ware stock pot.
One cast iron griddle.
3 cast iron dutch ovens (sizes 10, 12, and 14
One large cast iron fry pan.
One small cast iron fry pan.

All the cast iron is seasoned which makes it a natural non-stick surface. PS: My entire set cost less than $40.

First law of science: don't spit into the wind.
Keep on rollin'!
Magnus
