Texas is considering a road for an 85 mph speed limit. Anyone else planning to keep off it when towing?

There are many interstates that are 70 or 75 mph...who cares what the speed limit is...I still go between 62-65 mph. They still go flying by me....I'll pass them again down the road so they can go flying by again.

A lot of Interstate 10 across west Texas is already 80mph and they drive even faster than that.

there is a streach of intersate south of Salt lake that is 85MPH already. Still towed at 60-65, and there were plenty of tire carcasses beside the road.

and it wasn't that many years ago that Montana had a "reasonable and prudent" daytime limit, and 90 or more seldom would get attention if the road was dry and weather was good. Didn't change my towing speed, but sure made trips around the state in car quicker.

Only if it doesn't go where I want to be.

We already have the 85mph speed limit on a very large portion of I-10 in west Texas. The one you just heard about is a 41 mile stretch of a toll road between San Antonio and Austin, which has a very low use and they are hoping this will increase use of the toll road....The minimum speed is 50 in the 85 zones.

If they have an 85mph max, for safety's sake, there should be a 75mph minimum. Safe traveling...........

Why would you avoid it? Makes no sense to me... I'll take it for sure.
