If they have an 85mph max, for safety's sake, there should be a 75mph minimum. Safe traveling...........

Not when the safety rating on my "D" tires says 65mph...

Thats what I mean. You shouldn't drive it if you won't go over 65.

Kansas Turnpike spent the first 20 years of it's life with an 80 MPH speed limit and it was lowered in the 70s during the first oil embargo and the 55 MPH national speed limit. Went back to 75 MPH after that ended and remains there now. It has ALWAYS had the same 40 MPH minimum speed limit so it doesn't effect towing at all and doubt if this will either. Might be a good idea NOT to hang out in the fast lane though as many tend to do.

Its bad enough every 2 lane road in texas is 70mph outside of towns. Im tried of being passed in blind corners and before a hill crests. I just try to avoid that state all together

Im in a RV park in Georgtown Texas half mile trom the 130 Toll Road. Those toll gates are tight in my opinion for an RV, unless you have that Textag. I avoid toll roads in the RV anyway, as you pay by the axel.

You obviously haven't been on a California freeway lately. 85 is the average speed. When towing, just stay right and keep out of everyone's way.

Here is the current information from TxDOT..Texas has more than 520 miles of interstate highways on which the speed limit is 80 mph. They now have the authority to increase the max speed to 85.

i stay at the recommended speeds for my ss trailer tires safety limits.. 65 mph.
why would i drive any faster and risk a blow out..
now if i'm without a trailer, my fuel gauge determines my speed...
unloaded and no trailer, i loose 3-5 mpg from 65-75.
75-85 probably another 3-5 mph...
that drops me down to towing mpg...
do i need to get there that fast ????

Wouldn't bother me. If the roads were fairly smooth, I'd wind it up to around 75 and roll on in the right lane. We do that now but we have to usually get in the left lane.

Speed limit gets raiser to 85...

Then most people drive 90+...

And the same people make the same ridiculous argument that it safer to keep up with the flow of traffic… and try to justify it by sighting equally stupid impeding arguments…

Second verse the sane as the first…
