My dad was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage for two years around the time I was in 6th grade.When it came time for us to leave, the roads and several bridges were washed out. We spent about two unexpected weeks in the base guesthouse for conditions to improve enough for us to drive out. That was back when the AlCan was a dirt road!

Yukon road closures

Found this website after reading another thread about the road closures. We plan to be there in about a month so hopefully no new problems will happen.
