Going with Turnpike tires that my dealer sells,D rated tire and marketed thru General. Will run them at 60# and see what happens. I talked to him quite a while about wanting the Maxxis, told me he can get them and do whatever I wanted but he sells alot of Turnpikes with no trouble and we live and work in a large oil field community so they gotta be tough to make it in the patch! Taking the TT on a 1600 mile trip in July and I will report on the tires. 104$ each, mounted.

The wheels are aluminum Carlisle . I was thinking of the load range D and running 65psi I mean is 5 extra pounds gonna split the wheel ?

Tire and wheel manufacturers know that tires heat up at speed when loaded and will increase pressures maybe another 10 percent (est). However the tire cools and pressures drop to normal.

This is a very good point that I have not seen discussed on the forum.....that heat build up in the tire as it rolls will cause the pressure to increase. I am not expert enough to know the actual numbers of increased pressure per increased heat in degrees, but the pressure does increase. Someting I will check in detail on my next trip out.
