Marcus, After 4 weeks of the forums not accepting certain characters for posting and throwing errors can't you get this resolved? I've added a Woodalls link to work around the rv.net problems and perhaps your customers would prefer I entered through rv.net?
Addition suggestion: The editing etc on the forums is very old school and not very user friendly in today's environment. Can't this be improved? A lot of us use the forums but so much could be done to improve them and make editing easier. To get a good idea of user friendly visit and edit on the NAWS forums.

Here here. It's patently rediculous that a major issue on a massive forum like RV.net could be left for so long.
People are getting frustrated. They try to make a post, it refuses to post (sometimes after they type for a LONG time, not everybody types fast), and then get pissed off and just say "forget it".
They're unlikely to come back.
You're shooting yourselves in the foot, guys. Saying "just go use another portal" is ridiculous.
As for the forum software, yeah, it's terribly outdated. Without doubt it has had a lot to do with why RV.net has suffered so many problems over the years, this one included. It could well do with an upgrade to VB, or heck, even phpBB - both are far superior in so many ways it's not even funny, and I'm pretty sure upgrade paths are available.

I'm not up on all this tech stuff but I rarely have any problem reading posts or posting on this forum. I used to have some trouble when going through Trailer Life forum but none using rv.net forum.

I quit using RV.net and switched to the Trailer Life portal.

Type a long post offline, then copy and paste here. I did the reverse when I started the Small Solar System thread since I expected some problems. Created the post and copyied the text and sure enough the post failed. Then went to Woodalls and created the thread.
But anyone that quoted my post would find that their comments would be trashed when they posted.

It doesn't matter HOW you do it, if the post has one of the characters that screws up the forum...it won't post.
A handful of us have figured out why this is happening and are avoiding using the characters, but "Joe user" doesn't pay attention to these threads and has no idea why the post they've been fruitlessly trying to submit is refusing to post.

Be nice if you could give the rest of us poor "joe users" the benefit of your hard won experience.

I do agree with some that I have had trouble getting a post in on some occasions and have had to resort to another portal. And I have NEVER been able to get the spell checker to work. So many times I will create off line using a word processor, spell check and then post. Should not have to do those things in the 21st Century Jobs, Wozniak and Gates have solved all those problems back in the mid 80"s !!!!!

There's a variety of threads on the month-long (and counting) issues with posting here.
